The Lodge is a large detached house with expansive private enclosed gardens at the rear of the home. It is situated close to the towns of Wednesbury and Walsall. The property is within a few minutes’ walk of a variety of local shops and amenities and is a short distance from Wednesbury Town Centre. The city centre is just a 25 minute bus ride away or a 15 minutes drive in one of the homes’ vehicles.
The Lodge provides twenty four hour care and support for eight people with:
The service aims to provide a safe environment for people with learning disabilities, who, though requiring a high level of support, have the right to a lifestyle that is dignified and fulfilling.
We aim to encourage the people living there to achieve their maximum potential in social skills and everyday living skills and so they may live as independent a life as possible. We use Person Centred Planning to ensure that service users are enabled to meet their physical, emotional, vocational, educational, spiritual, safety and social needs. In line with the principles of Valuing People, each service user will have an individual person centred plan which will promote their right to:
Each individual’s plan will be regularly reviewed as to reflect changes in their needs and aspirations. We will involve independent advocacy as far as possible in order to facilitate this.
The home is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The home is managed by a Registered Home Manager. There are eight staff members on duty during the day and two waking night staff. There is an out of hours service provided by the homes management with the support of a senior manager should it be required.
All staff are fully trained to support the specific needs of the individuals living within our homes. Staff are subject to regular supervision and ongoing training is provided as part of a comprehensive training plan developed for all of our homes.
Patricia House is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
